49ers fans fly banner in protest of Jed York
Some San Francisco 49ers fans are fed up with the organization and raised money to pay for a banner to fly over Levi’s Stadium calling for Jed York to step down.
The banner, which flew over the stadium prior to the Cardinals-49ers game, was organized by Niners fan Conor McGuire. He set up a GoFundMe account for the project and raised over $1,000.
“Me and a few buddies are lifelong Niner fans that simply will not stand for this Jed York debauchery. He is a clown in every sense of the word and is ruining what was once one of the proudest franchises in sports,” McGuire told NinersFans.com earlier this month about his reason for trying to oust York.
How must @JedYork feel about this flying over his Levi's airspace? #49ers #Cardinals

York is the CEO of the 49ers and considered to be responsible for choosing GM Trent Baalke over Jim Harbaugh last year (here is a good breakdown of what transpired). The team elected to name Jim Tomsula head coach, and the results have been disastrous; the Niners are 3-7 this season, while Harbaugh has enjoyed success at Michigan.
