Aaron Hernandez has been arrested

Aaron-Hernandez-arrestedAaron Hernandez was arrested at his home in North Attleboro on Wednesday morning. At about 8:45 a.m., law enforcement officials dressed in suits entered his home. Hernandez left in handcuffs two minutes later and was placed in the back of a police cruiser.

According to FOX 25 in Boston, Hernandez was taken to the North Attleboro police department for booking, though the charges that will be filed against him are unknown at this time.

Those who have followed the case closely knew it was only a matter of time before Hernandez was detained. Investigators have surely been waiting to pile up enough evidence and probable cause to bring the New England Patriots tight end up on charges.

Hernandez’s situation has gone from bad to worse over the past week-plus. What started out as the 23-year-old being questioned in a homicide probe but not a suspect has turned into a report that he was driving a car with murder victim Odin Lloyd in it the night that he was killed. Hernandez later allegedly destroyed his own home security system and cell phone before turning them over to police as potential evidence in the case.

Given the high-profile nature of the case, we can likely expect law enforcement officials to move slowly with the proceedings.
