Aaron Hernandez documentary trailer released by Netflix
A documentary series is set to be released this month that will provide an inside look at the life of Aaron Hernandez and the events surrounding his murder trial, and it appears it will be as intense as most people imagined.
Netflix released the official trailer on Tuesday for “Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez.” The three-part documentary series will be available for streaming on Jan. 15, and it will include background information on the former NFL tight end’s upbringing, recordings of phone calls he made from prison, interviews with those who knew him, and more.

Hernandez committed suicide inside his prison cell in 2017. He was serving a life sentence at the time for murdering a former friend, Odin Lloyd, back in 2013. Hernandez was also charged with double-murder stemming from a 2012 incident outside a Boston nightclub, but he was acquitted less than a week before he took his own life.
Hernandez had his murder conviction vacated at one point due to an archaic doctrine, but it has since been reinstated. One popular theory is that he killed himself to protect his estate and assure his fiancee and daughter a more secure future, which you can read more about here.
There are many fascinating wrinkles to the tragic Hernandez story, and the documentary examines many of them. It looks like it will be must-see TV for more than just football fans.
