AJ Green will not need surgery on injured foot
The Cincinnati Bengals got a bit of good news on the status of wide receiver A.J. Green Monday.
Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said Green will not need surgery on his injured foot, but that doesn’t mean the team has a clear timetable for his return.
Marvin Lewis said AJ Green does NOT need surgery this year. But as to his timetable to return, he didn’t say.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Green will be out at least two games before he is evaluated again.
He will not need foot surgery, but Bengals’ WR AJ Green is expected to miss at least two games before doctors re-evaluate his foot injury to determine when he can play again, per source.

Surgery had been a real fear for the Bengals, but the expectation that Green would miss multiple games doesn’t appear to have changed significantly. At 5-3, they remain very much in the AFC playoff race, but having to continue to find ways to win without their top wide receiver will undoubtedly make things a lot more difficult.
