Alvin Kamara allegedly punched man who was unconscious
Alvin Kamara was arrested on Sunday over an alleged battery incident at a Las Vegas nightclub, and police have released the details surrounding the incident.
According to a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department report that was obtained by Amie Just of NOLA.com, Kamara allegedly punched a man while the victim was unconscious on the ground. Kamara and three other men are accused of stomping on the victim nearly two dozen times and punching him nine times. The victim suffered an orbital fracture as a result.
The police report states that Kamara punched the alleged victim eight times, with three of the punches coming when the man was on the ground. The victim did not punch or push Kamara or any of the other men who were involved in the alleged attack.
Kamara told police after the incident that the alleged victim called one of his friends ugly. The victim said he tried to make conversation with Kamara and his friends while the group was waiting for the elevator. Surveillance video allegedly shows the New Orleans Saints star putting his arm out and preventing the victim from getting into the elevator. The fight broke out after that, though Kamara was not the first person to throw a punch.
The victim is said to have lost consciousness at some point after Kamara punched him multiple times. Kamara and his friends then began stomping and punching the man in the face, chest and legs while he was on the ground.
The incident occurred on Saturday night. Kamara was arrested on Sunday after police interviewed the alleged victim at the hospital. The running back played in the Pro Bowl and was reportedly arrested at the site of the game.
