New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara may be a trade target for some teams, but the veteran made it quite clear that he is not exactly hungry for a move.
Kamara on Thursday responded to reports that he had spoken to Saints GM Mickey Loomis to make it clear that he wants to stay with the team. Kamara did not necessarily confirm that meeting happened, but made it very clear he has no desire to play elsewhere.
“I don’t want to go anywhere. I’ve said it countless times,” Kamara told reporters. “At the end of the day, it’s business. … If Mickey comes downstairs and (tells me I’ve been traded), then I’m going to drink a pina colada.”

The implication from Kamara is that he would refuse to report to a new team if traded. There is a joking tone about the comments, but it is something the Saints, as well as interested teams, might have to take into account.
The Saints are 1-5 and are not going anywhere, but Kamara is clearly comfortable where he is. The 30-year-old has rushed for 314 yards and a touchdown in five games this season, and has surpassed 1,000 yards from scrimmage in every one of his NFL seasons. The Saints have him signed through the 2026 season.
