Andrew Luck is in the NFL’s concussion protocol, which could be a big problem for the Indianapolis Colts since they play on Thursday night in Week 12.
Colts head coach Chuck Pagano delivered the bad news during his press conference Monday, noting that both Luck and defensive back Clayton Geathers experienced concussion-like symptoms after Sunday’s win over the Tennessee Titans.
With the 5-5 Colts looking to keep pace with the 6-3 Houston Texans in the AFC South, Luck’s concussion comes at a horrible time. It is extremely rare for players to enter the concussion protocol after a Sunday game and be cleared by Thursday.
If Luck cannot play against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Colts will be forced to start veteran Scott Tolzien.
