Andrew Luck out with shoulder injury, Matt Hasselbeck in
The Colts have been adamant all week that Andrew Luck would play on Sunday. Now, that won’t be happening after all.
Luck, who has never missed an NFL game, will not play Sunday due to a right shoulder injury that has limited him during the week.
Andrew Luck will not play today, per a team source.

This opens the door for 40-year-old Matt Hasselbeck to start for the Colts. Hasselbeck hasn’t started a game in three years, and the already struggling Colts would likely prefer that they didn’t have to go to him here, but they’ve seemingly been given no choice.
CBS Sports’s Jason La Canfora reports that there is “serious concern” within the organization about the status of Luck’s right shoulder. It’s understandable given the importance of Luck to Indianapolis, and injuries to a quarterback’s throwing shoulder are always concerning. There’s no real indication as to whether this is a one week issue for Luck or something more serious, but the Colts will definitely hope it’s the former.
