Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton had to leave Sunday’s game against Pittsburgh with a right thumb injury and will not return.
Dalton suffered the injury trying to make a tackle after throwing an ill-advised interception.
The team announced Dalton would not return, and apparently the thumb isn’t in great shape.

The Bengals would have to lean on A.J. McCarron if Dalton were out for any extended period of time, which would be a huge blow for them.
