Las Vegas Raiders coach Antonio Pierce appears to be in the dark about his job status, which is probably not a good sign.
Pierce faced multiple questions about his status following the Raiders’ season-ending 34-20 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. Pierce was asked if he had any clarity on his future, as well as if he thought he deserved to return for another season.
Pierce’s response to both questions was a simple “no comment.”

Obviously, the public will not be deciding Pierce’s fate, so he hardly needs to make his case to them. That said, it sounds like he might already know his likely fate. Reports have suggested there are serious doubts about whether Pierce will be back next year, and an underwhelming showing against the Chargers is not likely to have done him any favors.
Pierce got the Raiders job after going 5-4 as interim coach last season. He proceeded to go just 4-13 in 2024, falling well short of expectations. With uncertainty at the quarterback position and a lot of questions about the roster, the organization may take the opportunity to reset and get a new head coach.
