Barry Bonds: ‘I’m a Hall of Fame baseball player’
Barry Bonds was formally introduced as the new Miami Marlins hitting coach on Friday, which meant he met with the media for the first time. Inevitably, his continued omission from the Hall of Fame was raised, and Bonds had an interesting take on things.
Bonds on HOF chances: "I'm a Hall of Fame baseball player. That's all that matters to me. I'll leave the voting process up to you guys."

It’s the typical bluster from Bonds, but he has a point. Bonds did have a Hall of Fame career and absolutely deserves to be enshrined, but he’s probably never going to make it to Cooperstown on account of his oft-alleged PED usage, though he thinks otherwise. Whether Bonds is telling the truth that his omission doesn’t really bother him is a different story altogether, because he said it did as recently as last year.
