Bart Scott says he would ‘choke the hell out of’ Odell Beckham

Opponents have been very effective at getting inside Odell Beckham Jr’s head over the past two years, and the result has been costly penalties and fines. While those results are plenty for some, former New York Jets linebacker Bart Scott says he would teach Beckham a lesson a flag or fine can’t deliver.

During an appearance on “The DA Show” with Damon Amendolara on CBS Sports Radio Wednesday, Scott said there is no way he would back down from Beckham.

“If he tried to come at me with one of those things, whether the refs are watching or cameras are watching or not, I would choke the hell out of Odell Beckham,” Scott said. “I’ve choked plenty of players. I do not lie. I got Jake Long in a reverse arm bar because he had elbow surgery.”

In other words, Scott would be aiming to hurt the star receiver.

“Get that helmet off I’ll grab that little mullet pony tail. … I’ll pull his hair back and smack the hell out of him,” he added. “It’s gotta be a disrespectful one. You don’t hit him with the front of the hand, you hit him with the backhand. Listen, you backhand a grown man and he knows he can’t do nothing, you break his will. He’s gotta leave.”

Scott also said he wouldn’t care if he got a 15-yard penalty or fine because he considers that “the cost of doing business.” The audio is worth a listen:

We have no way of knowing if Scott would act on that, but he isn’t the only one who feels that way. Heck, even some of Beckham’s New York Giants teammates seem to be growing tired of his antics, and his former coach had some unkind words for the star wideout as well.

Even if Beckham is being targeted by opposing players, the antagonizing is working to perfection. He needs to learn to control his emotions.
