Cody Parkey’s time is up in Chicago.
As expected, the Bears will release Parkey at the start of the league year on March 13, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. He will still be owed $3.5 million in guaranteed money for 2019.
The #Bears have decided to release K Cody Parkey at the start of the league year, sources say. A fresh start is welcomed by both parties, and the Pro Bowler will likely find work quickly. He’s still due $3.5M guaranteed on his 2019 contract.

Parkey had a poor season for the Bears, culminating in a 43-yard miss on a game-winning try against the Philadelphia Eagles in the playoffs. After the comments made by his GM last month, there was no doubt that Parkey would be playing for a new team in 2019. This is just a formality.
