Bears LB Roquan Smith leaves practice with hamstring tightness
The Chicago Bears are hoping that a hamstring injury suffered by Roquan Smith is only minor.
Smith left Tuesday’s practice with tightness in his hamstring. The good news is the Bears say the tightness was slight and the rookie was shut down as a precaution.
Bears HC Matt Nagy: ILB Roquan Smith stopped practicing Tuesday because of slight tightness in his left hamstring. “We just wanted to be really (cautious) with it.” Smith might practice Wednesday.

Smith got a late start in camp as he was the last first-round pick to sign his rookie deal and only reported last week. The Bears have been hoping that the No. 8 overall pick could make his preseason debut on Saturday against the Chiefs.
Chicago opens the season on Sept. 9 against the Packers.
