Report: TE Benjamin Watson may change mind on retirement plans
Tight end Benjamin Watson originally was planning to make the 2018 NFL season his last, but it looks like he may be changing his mind.
Watson is considering a return to the NFL under the right circumstances, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Watson turns 39 in December and has been playing since being drafted in the first round in 2004. He spent last season with the New Orleans Saints, catching 35 passes for 400 yards and two touchdowns. He played the first six seasons of his NFL career with New England and has spent four of the past five seasons with the Saints. He has also played for the Browns and Ravens.
Watson is a big family man and has even written a book on fatherhood. He and his wife are expecting twins next week, which will give them seven children.
For his career, Watson has 530 catches, 5,885 yards and 44 touchdowns.
