Bill Belichick has officially had his first head coach interview with another team, just days after he parted ways with the New England Patriots.

The Atlanta Falcons announced on Monday that they have interviewed Belichick for their head coach job.

NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero says no deal is imminent but there is mutual interest between the sides.

Belichick had been with the Patriots for 24 years, so seeing him coaching another team would be jarring. However, Belichick needs 15 more wins to break Don Shula’s record of 347 wins as an NFL head coach. He has tons of motivation to try winning more games.

Belichick was the head coach of the Cleveland Browns from 1991-1995, so if he were to be hired by a new team, that would mark his third stop as a head coach in the NFL. Yes, Belichick is now officially a retread — one with six Super Bowl wins as a head coach.

If Jerry Jones wants to hire Belichick to coach the Dallas Cowboys, he now knows that the clock is ticking.
