Brandon Spikes is ‘free at last’ after signing with Bills
Brandon Spikes and the New England Patriots did not end their relationship on the best terms. Spikes was placed on IR in January, and the decision reportedly had more to do with disciplinary reasons than it did an actual injury. On Friday, the former Florida Gator signed with the Buffalo Bills. He sent the following tweet on Saturday morning.
Free at last, free at last. I thank God I’m free at last. Free at last, Free at last !!!!!! #LetsGetIt #PoWwWwW

You could argue that the tweet was a coincidence and had nothing to do with his leaving New England, but remember Spikes also wrote this earlier in the week.
It’s been real, it’s been fun. But it hasn’t been real fun lol. Thank u to the cities of New England & @Patriots for an amazing run. #PoWwW

It seems obvious that Spikes couldn’t wait to get away from Bill Belichick. He had reportedly been fined multiple times for being late to meetings, so I’m sure the feeling was mutual. By staying in the AFC East, he’ll have at least two chances for vengeance next season. We’ll see how motivated Spikes is to perform against the team that drafted him.
