Broncos coach not worried about his players partying in Las Vegas

NFL games will be held in Las Vegas this season for the first time in league history, and naturally there have been some questions about Sin City becoming a distraction for players. One coach whose team faces the Raiders every year insists he is not concerned about that.

After the NFL released its full regular season schedule on Thursday, Denver Broncos head coach Vic Fangio was asked if he is worried about his players getting into trouble or losing their focus when they travel to Las Vegas. He said he doesn’t even envision there being enough time for anything like that to happen.

NFL players are paid to act like professionals. We know it doesn’t always work out that way, but they shouldn’t need babysitters just because they travel to a city that has lots of fun stuff to do. Then again, some coaches might be concerned by one of the rewards that was offered to the Las Vegas Knights during the Stanley Cup.

Ultimately, players will be responsible for themselves. Teams can have “bed-checks” and whatever else, but adults shouldn’t need supervision during their free time — even in Vegas.
