Broncos GM has great comment about Chiefs trading Tyreek Hill
Denver Broncos general manager George Paton had a great comment about his AFC West rivals trading Tyreek Hill.
The Kansas City Chiefs last week traded Hill to the Miami Dolphins. Though they signed receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, losing Hill is not easy to overcome. KC will likely miss their big playmaker, but that does not mean Paton is not getting excited.
The second-year Broncos GM is trying to keep things in perspective regarding the team that has won the division six years in a row. He says the Chiefs still have such a strong core that they are dangerous even without Hill.
“Until they trade the quarterback and head coach I’m not going to worry about that too much,” Paton said over the weekend regarding Hill. “He’s a great player. They still have a lot of good weapons. They have one of the best coaches and one of the best quarterbacks. They set the standard and we have a long way to go.”
He’s spot on.
Maybe the Chiefs will miss Hill, but as long as Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes are there, not to mention Travis Kelce, you can’t expect them to be anything less than the division favorites.
Denver went all-out and added Russell Wilson. They will be a solid team. But the Chargers did damage in free agency, and the Raiders added Davante Adams.
The AFC West is going to be quite the wringer in 2022.
