Browns have interest in Mike McCarthy
The Cleveland Browns are conducting a wide-ranging coaching search, and that includes getting to some targets they didn’t last year.
The Browns are planning to interview former Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy, as first reported by Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com.
#Browns plan to interview the new and improved former #Packers coach Mike McCarthy this time around, source says. Didn't last year.

The Browns fixated on Freddie Kitchens last offseason and they never actually interviewed McCarthy. That appears set to change this time around. McCarthy and GM John Dorsey have familiarity with each other, as they both worked in Green Bay for several years.
McCarthy is a Super Bowl winner and has a track record of success with Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. That may be appealing to Cleveland, as they will desperately want a coach who can help Baker Mayfield progress in a way that Kitchens didn’t. McCarthy may have another opportunity elsewhere, however, and it may be more appealing than the Browns job is.
