Struggling Browns kicker reportedly dealt with groin injury
Cleveland Browns kicker Zane Gonzalez has had a rough two weeks and is set to lose his job, but there may have been some other circumstances in play here.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Gonzalez has kicked through a groin injury that is significant enough to warrant an MRI and could change how Cleveland elects to move on from him.

Gonzalez missed two field goals and two extra points during Sunday’s loss at New Orleans, which made life difficult for both him and those who share his name on Twitter. The Browns have already elected to bring in a new yet-to-be-determined kicker, but this may at least improve Gonzalez’s prospects of landing somewhere else if he can point to a physical issue as a root cause of his struggles.
