Browns lineman takes swipe at Ben Roethlisberger over Week 1 takedown
Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Danny Shelton wasn’t too pleased with Ben Roethlisberger’s antics during Sunday’s season opener.
In the fourth quarter of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 21-18 victory over the Browns at FirstEnergy Stadium, Roethlisberger got into it with Browns defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah in a play featuring some flopping and an ankle takedown (and which was later shared to Twitter by Steelers receiver Antonio Brown).

Shelton responded to Brown’s tweet Monday, taking a shot at Roethlisberger over the takedown of his teammate and calling on the NFL to take action.

Roethlisberger did come into Sunday’s game having something of a bone to pick with the Cleveland defense. But the play itself was both unnecessary and dangerous, so the backlash is understandable, especially since Roethlisberger was not assessed a penalty for the takedown.
