Browns return to classic uniforms after taking five years off
The Cleveland Browns have had one of the most classic uniform designs in the NFL throughout much of their team’s history, but they got away from that a bit in recent years. The team unveiled its “new” jerseys on Wednesday, and let’s just say they will look very familiar to Browns fans.
The Browns’ new uniforms for 2020 are basically a variation of the same ones they had in 2014 and for years before that. The numbers look more vintage, and they went back to their old stripe pattern and removed the word “Cleveland” from the front of the jerseys.
True to ourselves.
True to our loyal fans.
True to who we’ll always be.https://t.co/VwRW3sfRSx pic.twitter.com/HbQYZQEu9N— Cleveland Browns (@Browns) April 15, 2020

While there may be some subtle changes, the Browns basically just took five years off before going back to their old uniforms. If nothing else, it’s a safe play that won’t get them ruthlessly mocked like other teams that have unveiled new uniforms this offseason.
