Cam Ward has had a rough start to his sophomore season, and a small subsection of fans are apparently making things even worse.
The Tennessee Titans quarterback spoke with reporters after practice on Wednesday. During the media session, Ward addressed the alleged threats that were recently made against his family.
“I mean, at the end of the day, people are weird,” said Ward, per Turron Davenport of ESPN. “They can say whatever they want at the end of the day, but I think football will take care of a lot of it.
“My family knows the position I’m in and what I’ve wanted my whole life,” Ward added. “They’re in this position as well with me.”
For context, Ward’s sister Chantel had a lengthy post to social media after the Titans’ Week 3 loss, revealing that she and her family had been receiving threats. Chantel said that she was being flooded by “threats, hate, bullying, personal attacks, and disrespect towards me and my family.”

The 24-year-old Ward was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft but has done little to live up to that billing ever since then. Now in 2026, Ward looks like one of the worst starting QBs in the league and has thrown for just 504 yards and two touchdowns over his first three games en route to the Titans going an ugly 0-3.
These days, even reporters are openly criticizing Ward to his face. However, the narrative has clearly gone too far at this point with Ward and his family receiving threats from the public.
