Carlos Hyde may not be out of a job for long.
Hyde was among the players released by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Friday. He already has a visit lined up with the Kansas City Chiefs for Saturday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Hyde was acquired by the Jags last season in a bit of a desperation move. They were frustrated by Leonard Fournette’s absences and thought Hyde could help the offense along with TY Yeldon. But the team continued to lose and he failed to score a touchdown in eight games, rendering the Hyde acquisition mostly pointless.
Kansas City has Damien Williams at running back and is looking for a complement. Hyde averaged just 3.3 yards per carry last season, his second straight year with an average under 4 yards per attempt.
