Carson Beck stock was definitely up on Thursday night.
The Arizona Cardinals rookie quarterback Beck drew the start for the team during Thursday’s Pro Football Hall of Fame Game against the Carolina Panthers. From the get-go at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio, Beck was on top of his game.
He finished the first half going 11/14 for 148 yards and a touchdown. He had an impressive 49-yard deep ball to Jalen Brooks in the second quarter and followed that up with a picture-perfect TD throw to Simi Fehoko.

Beck’s impressive half led to everyone making the same joke over social media. They joked that Beck was quickly coming for Jacoby Brissett’s job as the starting quarterback of the Cardinals.

Brissett, 33, started 12 games for the Cardinals last season but went just 1-11 overall. While Brissett agreed to a reworked deal with Arizona earlier this offseason, he may now be facing some real competition from Beck, 24.
A two-time national champion at Georgia, Beck was the Cardinals’ third-round pick in this year’s draft (No. 65 overall). While Beck also has the newly-signed Gardner Minshew, 30, to contend with and still comes with some notable concerns of his own, he certainly helped his own cause with a strong performance during Thursday’s Hall of Fame game.
