Chad Johnson gets job with Browns after asking for it on Twitter
Chad Johnson is reporting to NFL training camp this month for the first time since 2012, only this time he won’t need to bring his pads with him.
On Tuesday, Johnson wrote on Twitter that he is going to be joining the Cleveland Browns at training camp on July 28.
What a blessing Hue Jackson is, see y'all in Cleveland on the 28th, no cleats this time just knowledge

While he didn’t come out and say it, the assumption is that Cleveland head coach Hue Jackson — who was a wide receivers coach in Cincinnati when Johnson was with the Bengals — has invited Johnson to join the Browns in some sort of interim coaching capacity. How did the idea come about? Johnson reached out to the Browns back in March and again on Monday.
@Browns Can you ask Hue if I can come in & work with the receivers, thanks.

Gonna ask Hue if I can join the Browns coaching staff as a "route running specialist" assistant receiver coach, what's the worse he can say.

You have to admire the persistence. If a recent story we shared with you is any indication, Johnson could use a few extra bucks. There’s no question Johnson was one of the best wide receivers in the NFL during his prime. Jackson must feel he can share some valuable knowledge with a young wide receiver group in Cleveland.
