Chargers’ Casey Hayward upset about ranking in NFL Top 100

Casey Hayward is shaking his fist at the sky after learning of where he supposedly ranks among the best players in football.

NFL Network has recently been unveiling their annual ranking of the league’s top 100 players, and this week they revealed rankings Nos. 60-51. Hayward, the Los Angeles Chargers cornerback, was listed at No. 59. While that is up from his ranking of No. 64 last year, it was behind such corners as Xavier Rhodes of the Minnesota Vikings (No. 55), Aqib Talib of the LA Rams (No. 53), and presumably many others whose rankings have yet to be revealed.

The news did not sit well with Hayward, who aired out his disgust on Twitter.

The 28-year-old Hayward, who has made two straight Pro Bowls and two straight All-Pro teams, had a strong 2017, logging 40 combined tackles, four interceptions, and 22 pass deflections (tied for second in the NFL). Players getting upset about their spot on the list is certainly nothing new, but based on his track record, it does seem like Hayward was slept on a bit this year.
