Charles Davis to replace Dan Fouts at CBS
CBS is making a change to its No. 2 NFL announcing team.
CBS is hiring Charles Davis away from FOX, the New York Post’s Andrew Marchand reported on Friday. Marchand says there is a verbal agreement but nothing has been signed yet by Davis.
Davis previously served as an analyst with Kevin Burkhardt on FOX’s No. 2 NFL team. The 55-year-old analyst also called the national championship game in college football in the past.
At CBS, Davis will team with Ian Eagle on the No. 2 announcing team and get a chance to call a playoff game next year. Marchand further reports that Davis could even call golf for the network at some point.
The future of Dan Fouts is now in question. The 68-year-old former quarterback retired from the NFL in 1987 and has served as a broadcaster since.
