Colin Kaepernick loses fumble on goal line with 2 seconds left (Video)

Colin Kaepernick fumble

The San Francisco 49ers’ decision to try a quarterback sneak with 10 seconds left in their game with the St. Louis Rams on Sunday will be questioned for a long time.

The Niners were down 13-10 to the Rams with 10 seconds left and had a 3rd and goal from the 1. They had run the ball for one yard on first down and threw an incompletion on second down, so they decided to try another run on third down even though a pass was probably safer and a field goal likely would have sent the game to overtime.

Video replay showed Colin Kaepernick never had the ball on the exchange with his center and the Rams recovered the fumble. Officials upheld the original call of a fumble on the field, giving the Rams a 13-10 win in a huge game.

After the game, Kaepernick told the media that he crossed the goal line.

“I know I crossed the line,” Kaepernick said. “Yeah, I did bobble the snap, but regardless …”

Sorry, Kap. I didn’t see you do that and I think the refs got the call right. Next time don’t play such a crappy game the other 59 minutes so you don’t have to worry about it coming down to something like this.
