Jacoby Brissett went from Andrew Luck’s backup to starting quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts very quickly, but he appears to have the full faith and backing of the organization.
Coach Frank Reich was full of praise for Brissett on Monday, calling Brissett a top-20 quarterback who can be a starter in the NFL.
#Colts HC Frank Reich concludes his presser with this: “Jacoby has this presence about him that it’s not about him. It’s about the other guys. It’s about bringing out the best in other people. We’re in good hands with Jacoby Brissett as our quarterback.’’

Reich says when he watches Jacoby Brissett, he sees a top-20 QB and a legit starter. Praises Chris Ballard for making the trade two years ago. "I'm sure glad we got him now."

While the Colts don’t want to put too much expectation on Brissett’s shoulders, he is the starter. They want everyone to know that they trust him to hold down the fort after Luck’s abrupt retirement.
The 26-year-old Brissett is 5-12 in his career as a starter. All but two of those games came in 2017, though, when he filled in for the injured Luck on a Colts’ team with an arguably inferior supporting cast.
