The Dallas Cowboys are exploring the possibility of making a significant addition to their wide receiver corps.

Veteran wideout Zay Jones visited with the Cowboys on Wednesday, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report. The free agent previously met with the Arizona Cardinals and Tennessee Titans.

Jones was cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars last week in a move that saved the team $4.5 million against the salary cap.

The 29-year-old Jones signed with the Jaguars in 2022, and he was very productive for them that season. He caught 82 passes for 823 yards — both career-high marks. Jones also had 5 touchdown catches on the year and was Jacksonville’s second-leading receiver behind Christian Kirk.

Last season, Jones had just 34 catches for 321 yards in 9 games as he dealt with knee and hamstring injuries.

Jones was arrested last year, but the charge was dropped in March. He did not face disciplinary action from the NFL.

The Cowboys currently have CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks as their top-two wide receivers. If Jones is healthy, he could potentially be a productive No. 3 option for Dak Prescott in the Dallas passing game.
