The Dallas Cowboys weren’t even able to reach the Divisional Round this postseason. But their absence didn’t shield the team from facing ridicule on social media.
The Detroit Lions on Sunday made the NFC Championship Game after beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-23 at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich.
The win came in Detroit’s first Divisional Round contest since 1991, which immediately yielded them an NFC title game appearance.
In contrast, the Cowboys have lost their last seven Divisional Round matchups and have failed to make the conference title game in their last 13 playoff appearances. A handful of fans had a field day on X at the Cowboys’ expense after the Lions’ win.

The Lions’ success relative to the Cowboys had several fans of America’s Team in their feelings about their team’s playoff futility.

Despite another early postseason exit, the Cowboys appear to be running things back next season. Perhaps 14th time’s the charm for Jerry Jones and his players.
