Cowboys legend Larry Allen dies – dead at 52

Former Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Larry Allen has died.

The Cowboys issued a statement on Monday sharing the news of Allen’s death. Allen’s family said that the 52-year-old died suddenly on Sunday while vacationing in Mexico.

Allen is survived by his wife Janelle, daughters Jayla and Loriana, and son Larry III.

Allen played for the Cowboys for the first 12 seasons of his NFL career from 1994-2005. He then spent two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers in 2006 and 2007 before retiring.

A member of the 2013 Pro Football Hall of Fame class, Allen made the Pro Bowl 11 times in his career. He was named a First-team All-Pro seven times.

Allen won Super Bowl XXX with the Cowboys in 1995. He was inducted into the team’s famous Ring of Honor in 2011.
