Cowboys name Kellen Moore offensive coordinator

Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys announced on Thursday that they have officially promoted Kellen Moore to offensive coordinator.

Moore spent the 2018 season as the quarterbacks coach in Dallas, and the Cowboys have decided to elevate his role after firing former OC Scott Linehan. Jon Kitna has been named the team’s new quarterbacks coach.

Moore played six seasons in the NFL, the final three of which were with the Cowboys. His playing career never panned out, but the Cowboys obviously like the work he did last season with their coaching staff.

There has been some talk about Jason Garrett potentially taking back play-calling duties, but the Cowboys apparently do not want him doing that. That responsibility should fall to Moore in 2019.
