Dallas Cowboys playoff scenarios: They can still make postseason
The Dallas Cowboys may have lost on Sunday night to the Philadelphia Eagles, but their season is not over yet.
The Cowboys can still clinch a playoff spot even though they blew a chance to lock up the NFC East. Here is their simple playoff scenario:
– Cowboys must beat the Redskins at home in Week 17
– Eagles must lose at the New York Giants in Week 17
If the Cowboys win and the Eagles lose, both would have 8-8 records. They have split their head-to-head matchups, making their division records the next tiebreaker. In this scenario, the Eagles would have two division losses (4-2) and the Cowboys would only have one and be 5-1 against the NFC East.
With Dak Prescott trying to play through a shoulder injury, Dallas isn’t even assured of beating Washington at home. But if the Giants play as well as they did on Sunday, they could upset Philly.
