Report: Dalvin Cook could fall out of first round, be drafted behind Joe Mixon
The upcoming NFL Draft is loaded with talent at the running back position, and that could have a negative impact on certain players. Will former Florida State star Dalvin Cook be among them?
NFL reporter Benjamin Albright spoke with multiple NFL front office executives who do not expect Cook to be drafted in the first round. In fact, they believe troubled former Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon could come off the board first.
More than one NFL front office person I've spoken to this week expects Dalvin Cook to slide out of 1st round, Joe Mixon to go ahead of him.

We have already heard that multiple analysts and talent evaluators feel Mixon could be the best all-around back in the draft, so it wouldn’t be shocking if some team overlooked the off-field issues — most notably the infamous incident in which he punched a woman — and drafted him early on. Judging by how Cook feels about his own talents, that would undoubtedly frustrate him.
Leonard Fournette has seemingly secured the label of being the best running back available, but the draft becomes more of a mystery after the former LSU star. Between Cook, Mixon and Christian McCaffrey, there are a lot of different ways teams could choose to go.
