Danny Amendola agrees to one-year deal with Lions
Danny Amendola left the New England Patriots last year to sign with the Miami Dolphins, but he is getting back to his roots.
Sort of.
According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, Amendola has agreed to a one-year deal with the Detroit Lions.
Former Dolphins’ WR Danny Amendola plans to sign with Detroit, per source. Amendola is in Detroit now, taking a physical and as long as there are no complications, he will be a Lion, reunited with GM Bob Quinn and HC Matt Patricia. #Lions

The Lions, of course, have heavy Patriot ties and are coached by former New England defensive coordinator Matt Patricia. That familiarity likely played a role in Amendola signing with Detroit.
Amendola, 33, caught 59 passes for 575 yards and one touchdown last season in Miami. With the Lions having traded away Golden Tate last year, he should see plenty of opportunities in his new offense.
