DeMarcus Lawrence has funny take on why he ignored Bell negotiations
There was some thinking that Le’Veon Bell’s decision to sit out an entire season may change how players handle contract negotiations going forward. Maybe it still will, but it certainly didn’t apply to DeMarcus Lawrence.
After finalizing his huge extension with the Dallas Cowboys, Lawrence was asked if Bell’s yearlong holdout was on his mind as something to potentially replicate if he didn’t get what he wanted. The short answer: not with that kind of money on the table.
#Cowboys DeMarcus Lawrence asked if he watched how Leveon Bell situation played out ahead of tough contract talks he said “nah I ain’t missing out on 20M for nobody”

The Cowboys offered Lawrence a huge deal, and he was quick to take it. Every contract negotiation is different, and when Dallas gave the defensive end what he wanted, there was no reason to wait around.
