Here’s something that will make Houston Texans fans smile.
Deshaun Watson was spotted practicing without a knee brace at Texans minicamp on Tuesday.
I’d say it’s a good sign to see Deshaun Watson practicing without a knee brace. Wouldn’t be allowed to do it if he wasn’t cleared to be on the field without it by the medical staff. Looked to participate in the same capacity as OTAs. Individuals, 7-7, no team participation. pic.twitter.com/6DaObpxyXs

NFL Media’s James Palmer points out that Watson had been wearing the knee brace during OTAs.
Deshaun Watson running a WR vs CB drill and is not wearing a brace on his knee. Had been wearing a brace throughout OTAs.

The former Clemson quarterback is returning from a torn ACL suffered in late October. He was lighting up the league prior to his injury, having thrown for 19 touchdowns and rushed for two scores in seven games.
Watson was said to be ahead of schedule in his recovery, and this seems to be another sign of that. If he’s ready to roll for the start of the season, that will certainly boost Houston’s chances of returning to the playoffs.
