Devin McCourty takes swipe at ‘Legion of Boom’

Patriots-secondary-parade

New England Patriots safety Devin McCourty believes the wrong collection of defensive backs was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated last week.

All of the talk leading up to the Super Bowl was about how Tom Brady would handle the best secondary in the NFL. In the end, it was the Patriots and rookie cornerback Malcolm Butler who made one of the most incredible plays in NFL history. McCourty pointed that out in his own way during his team’s victory parade on Wednesday.

The NFL's BEST Secondary should have been on the cover of Sports Illustrated last week but we don't care lol (D-Mac) pic.twitter.com/SW22ssL5LW

Richard Sherman probably wishes he did not make this gesture during the big game.

I’d still take a healthy Seahawks secondary over New England’s group, even with Darrelle Revis. But if the Patriots keep Revis next season and are able to bring back McCourty, the two units may wind up being 1A and 1B.
