Diontae Johnson has cryptic social media post after dud game with Ravens

Diontae Johnson falls to the ground

The Baltimore Ravens rode their red-hot offense to a win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night, but Diontae Johnson was unable to get in on the fun. Fans are now wondering if the former Pro Bowl receiver is already unhappy with his new team.

Johnson was active for the Ravens in their second game since they acquired him in a trade with the Carolina Panthers. The 28-year-old played just five snaps and had a lone 6-yard reception in his team’s 35-34 win at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md.

Johnson was mocked over one particular play where he looked like Bambi on ice skates:

After the game, Johnson shared a cryptic post on social media.

“It’s always two sides to a story,” Johnson wrote on X along with a shrugging emoji.

Only Johnson knows what that means. It is quite possible that the post had nothing to do with his slow start in Baltimore, but the timing was noteworthy.

The Ravens gave up barely anything to acquire Johnson ahead of the trade deadline. Rival teams were supposedly stunned that the Panthers did not keep Johnson given what they got in return, so perhaps Johnson’s post had something to do with those reports.

Whatever the case, Johnson has yet to show he can be a real contributor in Baltimore’s high-powered offense. That could change as he becomes more familiar with the playbook and system.
