DJ Moore weighs in on Bears potentially drafting a Justin Fields replacement
Thanks to their savvy moves last year, the Chicago Bears are in the running for the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft in 2024. That has led to a great deal of speculation regarding whether the Bears might decide to move on from quarterback Justin Fields after three seasons. After Sunday’s loss to the Cleveland Browns, top wide receiver DJ Moore weighed in on those rumors.
Moore was quite adamant that Fields is the quarterback the Bears should be moving forward with. He even added that he did not think Caleb Williams and Drake Maye, the top two quarterback prospects in the draft, are better than Fields is.

“Somebody asked me that last week. I’m still like, bro, where are y’all seeing this? What makes him not the quarterback for the Chicago Bears right now?” Moore said. “I get y’all got everybody coming out, there’s like two of them. I don’t think they’re better than Justin.”
The Bears may be tempted by Williams in particular if they do land the first overall pick. However, Fields’ future still appears to be in his own hands.
The third-year pro has put together some solid performances since returning from a thumb injury in Week 11, but it is not clear whether that will be enough to convince the Bears that he is the future. Perhaps Moore’s endorsement will hold some weight in making that decision.
