Donald Trump tweets congrats to Tom Brady after Deflategate ruling
GOP frontrunner Donald Trump (I still can’t believe I’m saying that) has never been one to create any ambiguity whatsoever on where he stands on the key political issues affecting our country. Now he’s affirming his position on Deflategate once again.
After Thursday’s news that federal judge Richard Berman had overturned the four-game suspension of New England Patriots signal caller Tom Brady, Trump tweeted his congratulations to the vindicated quarterback, calling him a “friend” and a “total winner.”
Congratulations to Tom Brady on yet another great victory- Tom is my friend and a total winner!

It’s not the first time, of course, that Trump has thrown his two cents into the Deflategate saga. Late last month, he openly trashed NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in an interview for Goodell’s mistreatment of Brady. Additionally, in May, Trump called on Brady to “sue the hell out of the NFL for defamation.”
Trump’s continued public support of Brady may just be a ruse to bait the four-time Super Bowl champion into a sense of indebtedness in the hopes that Brady might contribute to Trump’s campaign. But nevertheless, the coiffed politician has remained firm in his backing of Brady and the Patriots throughout the ordeal, and is understandably pleased with Thursday’s development.
On a similar subject, noted Boston sports fan Bill Simmons had a fantastic reaction to Trump’s congrats.
Thanks President Trump! RT @realDonaldTrump: Congratulations to Tom Brady on yet another great victory- Tom is my friend and a total winner!

No word though if Trump is lobbying for a wall to be built between Brady and opposing defenses and for Goodell to fund it.
