Donovan McNabb responds to trolls who say he wasn’t good enough for Andy Reid

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense have done some incredible things in the playoffs this year, and head coach Andy Reid deserves a lot of credit for his playcalling over the past two weeks. But if Donovan McNabb was still Reid’s quarterback, many people feel the results would be a lot different.

McNabb and Reid went to five NFC Championship Games during their 11 seasons together with the Philadelphia Eagles. They reached the Super Bowl once and lost to the New England Patriots. As Reid and Mahomes were lighting up the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday, Twitter trolls took the opportunity to throw cheap shots at McNabb, who hit a couple of them with the same response.

There’s no question Reid is an offensive genius, which is why he has made successful NFL quarterbacks out of guys like Alex Smith. The combination of the coach’s play designs with Mahomes’ talent has been perfect for the Chiefs, but Reid has made his fair share of crucial mistakes over the years as well.

If Mahomes goes on to win the Super Bowl, people are naturally going to bring up McNabb never getting it done. The six-time Pro Bowler seems prepared for that.
