Dwayne Haskins didn’t exactly impress with his 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine on Saturday, and he apparently thinks he can do better.
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport says he was told Haskins was dealing with leg cramps prior to running. The former Ohio State quarterback apparently will run again at his Pro Day and may be able to get into the 4.8 range.
Ohio St QB Dwayne Haskins, who ended up running an unofficial 40 of 5.04, was battling leg cramps prior to running, I’m told. He’d been timed in the 4.8s during training in California and will run again at his Pro Day.

Haskins is in contention to be the first quarterback selected and likely will be a top-10 pick. He was 373/533 (70 percent) for 4,831 yards, 50 touchdowns and 8 interceptions last season.
The slow 40-time is no surprise to anyone except Stephen A. Smith.
