Ed Oliver arrested on DWI, gun charges
Buffalo Bills defensive lineman Ed Oliver was arrested on Saturday night and is facing multiple charges.
Arrest records show that Oliver was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and unlawfully carrying a weapon after being pulled over. Police in Montgomery County (Texas) said the 22-year-old had an open beer container between his legs and failed a field sobriety test. Police also found a pistol in Oliver’s car.
The officer who administered the field sobriety test noted in his report that he suspected Oliver may have been impaired by something other than alcohol, though no drugs were found in the vehicle.
Oliver was pulled over after another motorist called police to report someone “failing to maintain a lane and driving dangerously” in a construction zone on the highway. Oliver was towing a trailer with a dune buggy on it in his Ford pickup.
Oliver had a solid rookie season with the Bills last year after they drafted him with the ninth overall pick. The former Houston star recorded 43 total tackles, five sacks and a forced fumble.
