Talk about losing a guy for nearly two decades.
After nearly 20 years, Eli Manning finally got an explanation from actress Kate Hudson over a comment she made way back in 2008.
During Monday’s edition of the “Manningcast,” Manning and his brother Peyton Manning had Hudson as a guest as the Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos played in the background.
The former New York Giants quarterback then pulled up a video from 2008 showing Hudson calling former New England Patriots star Tom Brady “handsome” and the “strapping type,” while describing Manning as the “bring home to mom type.”
Manning tried to jokingly clarify Hudson’s old statement straight from the source.
“So you implied that I’m not handsome or strapping. Can I assume that you were just acting right here, right here, this is like one of your great acting moments?” Manning asked Hudson, who explained that she was just trying to “differentiate” the two guys about to go head-to-head at Super Bowl XLVII.
“But yes, you don’t bring home to mom someone who’s not handsome, Eli,” Hudson added, to Manning’s delight.

The entire interaction was another example of Manning using self-deprecating, deadpan humor to perfection, which has always made him an entertaining fellow to watch.
As for the game they were covering, the Chiefs clobbered Denver, 31-10, for a Week 1 win at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.
