Denver Broncos wide receivers Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas want the ball more, and they don’t really care if that makes them divas.
Coming off a week when both players racked up over 100 yards receiving after complaining about not being targeted enough, Sanders is fine with the diva label if it means he’s successful.
“Hey, one thing, I don’t mind being a diva,” Sanders laughed, via Jeff Legwold of ESPN. “I am a diva. I am a diva. I like winning ballgames, I like catching passes. Every wide receiver in the world likes to catch passes; every wide receiver in the world likes to put up points. After that game when the defense scored two touchdowns and you’re looking and [cornerback Aqib] Talib has more touchdowns [than the wide receivers] and the defense is holding us down, we’re looking at ourselves and saying offensively that we have to step it up.”

Sanders clarified that he and Thomas are different types of divas.
“He’s like a country diva,” Sanders said of Thomas. “I’m like a Hollywood diva.”
“I’m from the country, I drive a Ford [truck],” Thomas agreed. “Ain’t nothing wrong with that.”
The improvement of quarterback Trevor Siemian has been a big help, and one of the team’s defenders can see the improvement. Given their big days, it’s understandable why they can live with the labels.
