Could Eric Bieniemy leave Chiefs after missing out on coaching jobs?

Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy did not land a head coaching position this offseason. As it turns out, he may be set for another job entirely despite that.
Bieniemy’s contract with the Chiefs is expiring this offseason, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. While there is a chance he will return to Kansas City, he also has the option of exploring other opportunities.

So after getting passed over for head coaching opportunities again, Bieniemy could either return to Kansas City or be a hot free-agent OC target elsewhere.

This could set up a very intriguing situation for Bieniemy, who is highly respected around the NFL. The Chiefs’ offense has been nothing but successful during his tenure, and he would undoubtedly attract widespread interest if he did look at other opportunities.
Bieniemy was a candidate for the New Orleans Saints job that was filled on Monday. Several teams are still on the hunt for coordinators, so if Bieniemy is interested in moving, he will probably be listening in the days and weeks to come.
